John Magee Tells Us Like it Really Was
Oceanside RACE REPORT CORRECTIONS
While I think Pete meant well, there are a couple of errors in Pete’s Race Report that I need to correct
First Error
Pete stated that “John Magee, a member of the powerful Kain Performance Multi-Sport Team, was overheard saying how he loved the “tough conditions in the swim. It is much like my home country of Britain, where we train in the English Channel”.
This should have read “where he takes the train across the English Channel”
Second “Magee had a mishap at the start line and was left fumbling with his eyewear when the gun went off”.
This should have read
“Magee had a mishap at the start line and was left fumbling with his underwear when the gun went off” – actually this happens a lot and is not an uncommon problem for me.
Next error
“Magee was overheard to say, "The Queen of England could NOT do this ride, so I will have to forge on and represent Britain, even though my quads are toast"!
This should have read
"The Queen of England could NOT do this ride, and I would rather be home eating toast”
Finally
John Magee, after a very respectable ride, hit the run and was heard saying, "If not for myself, then for my country"!
Actually I was talking to my wife at the time and I was telling where I thought I had left my chocolate croissant for after the race “ Its not on the shelf inside the pantry?” – Pantry is an English slang word for food closet or larder. Which must have sounded a lot like what Pete heard.
Good Job anyway!
John
