Iron Kainies Kick it at Kona

A big CONGRATS to Suzanne, Paul and Brian Lavelle on finishing their first Ironman World Championship race on the beautiful island of Hawaii.

Conditions were hot on race day (triple digits!) and windy on the bike, but they all gutted it out to the end. CONGRATULATIONS!!! It was a thrill to be on the island to watch them compete too! Suzanne's crew included Randy, her mom, her sister and her cousin. Paul's son Andrew got to finally see his dad race in an Ironman and even ran down the chute and crossed the finish line with him. Brian Lavelle had Team Lavelle on hand to help him make to the finish including Becky, his dad Tim, his sister, the Weilers, Rikke and probably a few more that I missed. And I (Judy) was there throughout the day as well to cheer and support all of them which I consider an honor to have been a part of.

If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend volunteering. It really makes the experience that much more exciting. And stay until the finish...the stories you hear about are incredibly inspiring and the smiles on the faces as they cross the line are priceless.

Finish times: Suzanne - 12:49
Paul - 12:35
Brian Lavelle - 9:39

Swim 2.4...Bike 112...Run 26.2...

Brag for the rest of your life!

CONGRATS AGAIN TO EVERYONE!!! YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!!!
