And They All Fall Down
Tahoe Winter Wonderland Training Weekend-2006
Friday: It was an optional downhill ski/snowboard day. 12 lucky daredevils went for the ski day and were rewarded with great snow and a FREE pass to ski all day at Alpine Meadows! We had a blast! Fresh powder and no lift lines! The downhill day was a first for our WWW and will not be the
last!

Friday night: The group of downhillers, plus a few late arrivals went outin downtown Truckee and had a nice feast, then tore up the small dance floor. One local woman was heard saying it was the most fun she has had at this local establishment in 25 years!
Saturday: Wake up to about a foot of the fresh stuff. A bit of a stormy day, but nothing to deter our fearless group. We had a Snowshoe Adventure on the books and were going if it was storming, or not. Thanks to Rob Pennell for coming out on a day he was not feeling 100% to help lead the charge. We had a great day, with about 30 people climbing up a couple of mountain tops in 2 feet of fresh snow. The trip down the mountain was the best of all with some good end over end falls! After about 3 hours we hit a nice Mexican restaurant for a well deserved lunch.

Saturday night: Dinner out in Truckee (Thanks to Jody Gold for setting this up). Great group meal, followed by the first ever KP Talent Show held at the Wicker Cabin. I think we have started a tradition, so next year will get even crazier! The KP Team came out in force and stepped up for
some incredible talent! There was a bit of everything, but the Sony and Cher duo of Joanne and Ingrid took the 1st Prize (they each will receive a new KP windshell vest). All had a great time and a lot of laughs! Thanks to all who participated and made it such a fun night!
Sunday: The troups are getting tired, as only 8 of us showed up for the Epic X-Country Ski day! (Some of the gang could not resist the 1 foot more of fresh powder and went downhill instead). They missed a great workout and a fun time as Coach Sharoo and Peteman took the gang off trail for some great descending on some fresh powder! Incredible face plants were had by all, but Eric V. got top honors completing a full flip and landing with ski's on! Ryan R. and Jeff P. also had a few flying facials to keep everyone in stitches! Of course the Coaches had a few nice ones too! Sharoo almost wet her pants laughing at herself and the rest of the group! After a few hours of lots of climbing and some fun descending, it was finally time to head for home.
Thanks to all who made the Wacky, Winter Wonderland Weekend a great success. Thanks to Jody for handling all the logistics. If you missed it this year, you may want to reconsider next year, as I am sure we will do it again! Hope to see you all on our next adventure to Santa Barbara in
February.
